Today on Quantum Recall LIVE we’re stepping into World B — a parallel reality where you can build new friends and family free from the judgment of the people who already know you. No family eyes watching. No religious weight. Just a normal place where people actually get along.
We’ll talk Mao’s biography, about Native Roots just shutting down, and why sobriety still feels like the sharpest tool for personal and spiritual growth (fight me). Plus the hard limits Suno just put on song downloads, the growing fatigue with AI surveillance and control versus its real creative power, and exhaustion from constant division, deception — men vs women, government, media, and activism tearing friends and family apart.
If you’re tired of the noise and looking for a different lens, this one’s for you. Live now on X, YouTube, and Rumble.
World B | Quantum Recall Show Notes
Paul Saurini admits up front that he’s in a strange, cerebral mood, and this episode of Quantum Recall follows it somewhere thoughtful: World B, an imagined refuge beyond judgment where you could start over free of everyone who already knows you. From there it’s a frank look at sobriety and freedom, plus a long, two-sided take on AI fatigue, from Suno’s new download limits to the fear of a total surveillance grid.
What we talked about
5:43 · A 600-page Mao biography. Paul is 100 pages into a Mao biography and already disturbed by it. His take: anyone in a position of influence who expresses admiration for Mao, a “murderous thug in every true sense of the word,” should lose that platform.
8:25 · Welcome to World B. The theme of the show, and a story idea Paul has been turning over: a world where the pressure of family judgment is gone and people actually get along. He wrestles with the faith side of it (you can’t hide from God, so is World B heaven, or hell?) and ties it to Netflix’s 3 Body Problem, which opens on a brutal struggle session in Mao-era China, as a reminder of how fast humanity can go off the rails.
23:03 · Sobriety, and a close call in the garage. While adjusting the sprinklers late at night, Paul caught his mind whispering that smoking weed “would be cool right now,” years after quitting. He walks through why sobriety matters to him (clarity, focus, connection, his relationship with God) and why he had to quit alcohol to quit marijuana.
26:42 · Native Roots closes, and “fight me.” Under a Facebook post about the Colorado dispensary chain shutting down, Paul went against the grain and wrote that sobriety is the best state for personal and spiritual development. Fight me. Nobody responded, which he blames on the stupid algorithm.
34:12 · Suno caps downloads. Most of the show’s music is made in Suno, which is cutting Pro accounts to 20 downloads a month (60 on Premier) and adding watermarks. Paul compares it to the Napster days and Facebook jail: AI tools hook you while it’s the Wild West, then clamp down once you’re paying.
41:33 · The drink: Shirley Temple kombucha. A limited-edition Synergy flavor named after his favorite mocktail. The verdict is “quite good,” and he’s already worried they’ll take it away.
43:47 · Everything fatigue. Division between men and women, government and media splitting friends and families, deception fatigue. On AI, Paul isn’t tired of it, but he fears cradle-to-grave tracking, China-style control grids and zero privacy. On the upside, he’s excited to someday make a full-length World B movie with AI tools.
49:18 · Reacting to the AI complainers. A montage of people sick of AI, plus a customer-service bot that insists it’s a real person. Paul’s lines: use a digital clone for tedious work like taxes, never for the parts of life you love (like this show), and give every feed a “filter out the AI” button.
1:09:31 · Coca-Cola’s custom cans. A viral clip shows Coke’s personalized-can site rejecting “Jesus is good” and “Holy Spirit” while accepting other phrases. Paul calls it Christian-hate fatigue and wonders aloud whether the world is being torn down on purpose to build somebody else’s World B.
