Quantum Recall Pre-Show: Show Notes

It’s World B week, and the Wednesday pre-show finds Paul Saurini tired, honest and fired up about AI. In under 20 minutes he covers his plan to rest more, the real upgrades AI has brought to his everyday problem-solving, and the “everything fatigue” he plans to dig into on Thursday’s main show.

What we talked about

1:02 · Rest as a productivity hack. Running himself ragged, Paul is following a book about rest: more walks outside, and a memory foam cot (out for delivery as he speaks) for 15-to-30-minute naps after lunch. It’s not laziness, he insists. Editing is addictive, and he needs to recharge.

3:06 · AI excitement, not AI fatigue. Plenty of people say they’re burned out on AI. Paul says he has AI excitement with some AI anxiousness. Taking Julia McCoy’s advice, he’s learning to train AI agents to take the busywork off his plate, with safeguards so nothing goes live until he signs off.

4:23 · Upgrades with cousin Mark. A network upgrade turned out to need just a new 16-port switch, not new cable ends. The visit turned into a long talk about AI. Paul taught Mark to build computers in the late ’90s, and now they agree a precise question to an AI beats wading through hundreds of Google links. Asking AI how to prompt has even made Paul a better prompter.

8:13 · Everything fatigue. Paul coins “everything fatigue” during a call with another cousin: political fatigue, being lied to, and people who won’t stay friends over one differing belief. He’d rather keep civility, respect and affection across big disagreements, and he notes the division has gone into overdrive since the lockdowns.

12:08 · Pinball, AI movies and a one-man band. Paul placed 11th out of 27 at a pinball tournament this weekend and thinks he can do better. He’s sure that as AI video improves he’ll be able to produce a full movie himself. He also wants to record videos playing every instrument, from drums, keys, bass and guitar to vocals, and wishes for software that edits video tracks as easily as audio.

16:43 · Wrapping up. A plug for Thursday’s live show on YouTube, X and Rumble, a request for Facebook follows (100 unlocks streaming there), and why he keeps pre-shows under 20 minutes. Everyone and their dogs are doing shows now, so he plans to keep making his better.

Quantum Recall streams live every Thursday at 12:30 p.m. MT from Denver, with a Wednesday pre-show warm-up.
